About a year into being on my own I was exhausted! Perpetually exhausted. God kept impressing upon me that I needed to get up early and spend time with him, not something that sounded appealing at the time. Don’t get me wrong, spending time with God sounded great, but waking up early…..um….take a hike! It was a few months of me wrestling and being rebellious before I finally submitted. Now, I love my mornings so much that I wake up early, not only to spend time with God, but to exercise and take some time for myself before waking up the littles.
I recently quit drinking coffee which was the last source of caffeine in my life and I’ve got to be honest, the struggle is real! The truth is, I’m just plain sick of that mid day crash. I’m tired of coming home from work and having zero energy to enjoy my kids. So I gave up my coffee and I’m starting to have more consistent energy throughout the day.
When I started my work out journey I fell in love with Jillian Michaeals. She is the perfect balance of motivation and I’m dying, packaged into one. Seriously, It’s a love/hate relationship. Luckily you can find a lot her videos on YouTube and if you have a SmatTV this makes it so easy to get up and get going in the mornings. I’ve included level 1 and level 2 for you here. Level 3 seems to no longer be on here, but let me tell you it’s worth the money to buy the set.
If you subscribe to the BeFit Channel on YouTube you can find all kinds of amazing videos that will fit whatever work out you want to do. I personally, on days I feel too sore to do the high intensity workout, relax into some yoga. It’s great for stretching and elongating those muscles, as well as gets my mind relaxed and ready for the day. Plus I don’t feel like I wasted a perfectly good day towards reaching my fitness goal, as long as I did something.
Another great thing I do, that is very easy and has been sculpting my thighs fabulously, is wall sits when I brush my teeth. I have a Phillips SoniCare toothbrush and it has been worth every penny! Not only does it make my teeth feel amazing it has a built in timer and for the entire two minutes, 2x a day, I do wall sits. I mean, might as well, I’m there anyways.
All of this while eating right, (no artificial sugar, no bread, and no dairy…minus Nonfat Greek yogurt) gets me feeling great in a week or two. After the detox headaches that is. Just make sure that you are drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep, and for the love of Pete….CHEAT! At least one day a week. I don’t mean loose it all together, (otherwise you will feel sick if you overload on too much junk.) but indulge on some stuff you’ve been avoiding. My biggest weight drops were after a cheat day. So be like Nike and just do it!
